RESEARCH
Overview
I pursue a system that converts material information from living organisms and the environment—information that is invisible to the eye, inaudible to the ear, and difficult to perceive—into “light,” enabling real-time interaction through optical communication networks and computers. To realize the light–matter conversion technologies at the core of this system, we apply advanced techniques for controlling light to develop microsensors that respond to minute amounts of bio-signals and microactuators that modulate optical signals. By orchestrating these microdevices in concert with artificial intelligence, I aim to control biological information in real time and thereby create systems that guide dynamic harmony in life and the environment—what I call “nature with light”, a living and environmental world that harmonizes through light.
